Happy Friday, folks! Hooray! We have survived this long, record hot week and now it's time to bring on the weekend! Before your weekend festivities begin, check out a bit of what happened this past week, including a new menu feature and some favorite Instagram photos:. . .
A week in Instagram photos
Last weekend I was fortunate enough to have some time to take the 1.5 hour drive up to the lower Hudson Valley of New Windsor, New York. Finally, some fresh air, green trees, small towns, and distances of mountains and fields instead of concrete and buildings! We went to the Storm King Art Center where we rented bikes to roam the 500-acre landscape of fields, hills, and woodland to view their large and spectacular collection of sculptures spread throughout. You can see the beauty of the area in the nature photos above, it was cloudy and grey but the weather to me was perfect and made for a great bike ride!
That adorable orange creature you see above is my roommate Sarah's cat, Lyle. I'm a huge animal lover, but to be honest, I was never really a cat person until I moved in with roommates who had cats. Lyle is the most affectionate cat ever, keeps me company when I work from home during the days, and just the darn cutest thing! Sadly, though, Sarah is moving out next month and he'll be going with her! I'll miss him!
Brooklyn, New York is a great place to live and during the summer, one of my favorite things to do on the weekend is go for brunch and take a walk around the neighborhood of tree-lined streets. A regular weekend brunch spot for me is Beco, a Brazilian bar and eatery - their iced yerba mate tea (with extra limes!) is just what I crave on a hot day! . . .
As some of you may have noticed, I recently added the "Gallery Index" feature to my menu options. Here you can find thumbnails of all my inspiration boards and posts organized by category. I'm really excited about it and I hope this makes it easier for you to navigate around my site! So take a peak and enjoy!
Enjoy your weekend, stay cool, and see you back here on Monday! . . .
