All-natural cleaning products make me SO happy. It's because not only do they work great, but I know all too well that gross, toxic smell and burning eyes and throat from chemical cleaners (i.e chores consisting of bathroom and household cleaning, and washing dishes as a kid). And ummm yeah, no kid should have to handle those toxic household cleaners! But I really didn't mind because as a life-long weirdo, I love to clean, and I've always loved to clean, even as a kid (I found washing dishes fascinating and something to perfect...for some strange reason). So finally being able to clean without putting gloves or a face mask on was like a parting of the seas moment. That, plus the benefit of having a naturally clean home that you can take long, deep, clean breaths in, and the added benefit of knowing that you didn't just pour a bunch of chemicals into our water supply.
I love everything about Common Good, their offices are even located near me in Brooklyn. Everything they make is with the people and the environment in mind. The minimal packaging is not only beautifully designed, but reusable and recyclable. And don't forget to check their website to see if there is a Refill Station near you! You'll be helping the planet even more by reusing and refilling your Common Good glass or plastic bottles and containers.
From the beginning, they've always listed their ingredients and what they're used for. All their formulations are:
- 100% biodegradable
- 100% pure essential oils used
- Great for sensitive skin
- Cruelty free
- Sustainably sourced
- Phthalate and paraben free
- Free from harsh chemicals, dyes, and strong fragrances
I tried out the All Purpose Cleaner (Tea Tree). I took it quite literally and went crazy cleaning everything - shelves, ledges, windows, countertops, tables, mirrors, refrigerator doors... It's pretty amazing. And makes your home smell refreshing, clean and crisp without being overpowering.
I really have to take a moment to rave about the Lavender Linen Water. I'm pretty sensitive to scents and fragrances, and would never really consider spraying my comforter with anything before sleeping, as I wouldn't want the smell to irritate me. But I gave it a shot, and the natural, light lavender essential oil scent was so comforting and soothing! All you need is a light spray. Also good for freshening up a stuffy room, or use on clothing to reduce wrinkles!
Lastly, I love the Common Good Dish Soap (Bergamot) in glass container! The bergamot scent is perfect for the kitchen and the glass container quickly adds a touch of pretty sophistication to your kitchen sink. I have a couple of refill stations near me, so I can't wait to reuse these bottles when I run out!
Check out Common Good online or in stores. You can also now find them at select Target stores for the Spring Wellness Mini Seasonal Event through April - email them (firstname.lastname@example.org) for store locations.
