Welcome to my new series, Crystallography! When I was a kid, my dad would go on business trips a couple of times a year. Every time he would come back, he'd bring each of us kids a small gift - and he would always bring me back crystals (usually from the hotel gift shop). Ok, it's because I would ask him to, but still. This started my love of crystals, minerals, and stones. I was always into 'em. I connected with their energy and natural beauty and colors. And soon enough, collecting crystals became a hobby as a young kid.
Did you know that crystals are high vibrating? They are known to transmit, reflect, store light and receive energy. Ancient civilizations were known to utilize the healing power of crystals to release mental, physical and spiritual blockages, thus facilitating the free flow of energy throughout the body. There are so many different types of crystals, minerals, and stones and I love exploring them and their properties and meanings. I can literally fall into the deep, black hole that is Crystallography.
Moonstone, specifically Rainbow Moonstone, is all about the feminine energy. It draws energy from the moon, calms and encourages, teaching us the natural rhythms of life. It helps attune to the rhythmic energies of the moon, promoting inspiration and enhancing intuition. It is a stone of inner growth and strength. It provides protection, clearing the mind and senses, and aids in calming sleep. Because of it's feminine energy, it is also said to be a stone of fertility. It is associated with the Crown Chakra.
I thought it appropriate to kick off the series with Moonstone because of the Full Moon tonight! The moon represents the feminine, emotional, creative and nurturing aspects of our lives. In terms of cycles, the New Moon represents the beginning of a cycle, and the Full Moon represents the release. A Full Moon's energy is powerful and intense. It is the "high tide" of power, and amplifies your creativity. So release what does not serve you, and use this time to focus on taking action towards your goals - opening yourself up to opportunities!
